About this blog

Welcome to the WIMM blog – a site dedicated to describing the cutting edge research ongoing at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM) in Oxford, UK.

The blog is a collection of posts written by PhD students, postdoctoral scientists, research assistants and group leaders who work at the WIMM, and is edited by Dr. Bryony Graham (a postdoc in Prof. Doug Higgs’ lab) and a team of sub-editors.

Researchers at the WIMM work on a number of clinically relevant diseases, including inherited anaemias, HIV, a range of cancers and a specific subset of neuromuscular disorders. The aim of this blog is to describe and explain exactly what scientists at the WIMM are up to – click here to read about recent, hot off the press research from the labs.
